Default need an alarm system

i have one already but i'm looking for something a tid bit more effective. my buddy has one on his 92 GSR thats pretty sick, i wanted some feedback on what you guys thnk of it. key opens all doors manually, but doesn't disarm the alarm. once alarm is armed (which it does automatically if the button isn't pushed within 20-30 seconds of shutting the doors) the only thing that will disarm the alarm (short of cutting any wires) is pushing the alarm button. while alarm is armed you can still unlock doors but alarm will go off as soon as they are opened. kicking the rims will set the alarm off as well as dropping a windshield wiper down, or even the center console down. turning the key and attempting to start the car (while inside with the alarm armed if you somehow pull off getting in without setting it off) the alarm goes off and car won't start. if alarm is going off car will not start. what do you guys think?? sound like a good system?

sounds like a basic alarm to . nothing special. what u described is jsut basic functions that all alarms have. keyless entry/ignition kill/shock sensors/hood,door,trunk pin these are just basic.

i think it is pretty basic, but it seems to be aggrivating to the point of being quite effective. thanks for your input

yes it is. u need something like mine. basic plus motion. proximity, tilt, starter kill, windows roll up and down, gps. clifford concept 470 plus extras as u can see mines effective and some. i install all day. trust me when i said that was just basic that all alarm will usually have. i don't see why urs don't have it unless your system was only hooked up with keyless. meaning not a full install.

if we rock the car the alarm will go off, jacking it up too... so i don't know what it all has. pretty sure it doesn't have GPS though.

To sum it up, you need a back up battery, a nice unit-like the clifford 50.5x, 210v gps tracking unit, stealth install, multi sirens-one in the fender never in the engine bay-mini in the car-one in the back bumper. 3 or more kill switches. Clubs, foot lock are a nice way to add extra layes up for the alarm system. Read this if your up to the job yourself.
