99-2000 civic si?
is there a difference between the 99 or 2000 civic si cause sometimes its always best to get the model after the first year it comes out im talking about factory defects weaker tranny stuff like that any help would be good
nope, they were all the same. The 00's had seat belt anchors in the back seat for child seats, I think that's the only difference.

This is usually true when the car is a completely new model (and it's not a Honda or most imports). In this case it's only a slightly tweaked version of the tried and proven model. No advantage as to which year you get.

I can't really say I agree. The way they're done varies and the two tone... YUCK!
As far as the model being reliable though...
The 6th generation Civic, which includes the '99-'00 Si started in 1996. If you want to worry about the first year model, then 1996 is it.
The B16A2 in the Si is basically the same B16 that was sold in overseas hatches and sedans in previous years. So there's no problem there either. And of course the B16s in general had been around for years upon years longer than that.

I had nice leather seats in my old Si. Black with perforated leather centers, and red stitching.

That's a little better, but I still can't say I'm a fan. Basic Civic seats with holes in the headrests. Then they just put leather on them (and at least some of the "Si seats" with leather don't have the holes in the headrests anymore either).
I'm not a big fan of logos in headrests.
