I have an F23...my tech said that if I were to go turbo he wouldn't recommend higher than 8PSI. You can easily do 7PSI with stock internals. It just depends on how fast you want to go.

if you are going to turbo buy some new pistons and rods

the stock sleves will take a beating but the pistons, rings and rods are the weak points

also a good ems and tune will help more than you think

Ignore the boost gauge and pay attention to HP. The F23 can handle around 200-230hp daily. That's just from my experience. There are several other F23 owners pushing it a little higher, but I feel safe in that range. With that power I was driving it daily for over 3 years.

If i were you, Id rebuild the bottom end with new bearings, rods, rings and low compression pistons etc. After awhile, you get bored of 8 pounds and start cranking the boost up little by little every day. So its a good idea to build up your bottom end prior to boosting.

Also, since you said you wanna do a h22a swap, id suggest to swap the h22 head on your f23 block. Because teh h22 has FLM sleeves that dont handle boost well at all. Mabye 9-10 pounds (about 3-350hp). And your f23's sleeves will hold 20 punds all day long with the right setup. Theres a thread on here that some one put a h22 head on a f23 block and was making 200 whp with a few bolt-ons and cams. Witch is about 230 HP to the crank. Add boost to that and you got yourself some halfway reliable 300 horses.

O, depening on what the lug spacing on your wheels are, there are specific forsale forums here. Heres the 114.3x4 wheel forsale thread.

Good Luck with the build!

The F23 has 9.3:1 compression... I don't really see the need to go lower unless you want to shoot for a really high power level, but even then it's not a big deal.

I'll say this one more time. The H22's FRM sleeves are not weak, and handle boost just fine. The ONLY time you have a problem with FRM sleeves is when you try to fun an aftermarket forged piston. The FRM sleeves and forged pistons expand and contract at different rates and you get problems with the pistons scoring the cylinder walls.

The reason people say that H22's don't like boost is because the ringlands are weak, but the F23's ringlands are just as weak, so...

By ringlands do you mean rings. Also what rods and piston do you recommend? I am research the same build and want to do it right. Looking for a parts list. Also on a budget too. Lol I was gonna boat stock and stay 10psi but I think I just wanna build right. Thx

Ring lands are the area at the top of the piston where the rings fit into. On the stock cast pistons they have been known to crack and chip under higher boost pressures as it applies more side load on them. The added heat of improperly tuned FI doesn't help ether.

FYI - To build it right, is not going to be cheap......basic rule to building engines; Fast, Reliable, and Cheap

Fast + Reliable = Is not Cheap
Fast + Cheap = Is not Reliable
Reliable + Cheap = Is not Fast

Or you could just go cheap, have fun building it, and learning from the experience.

Another way to look at this is financially. How fast can you afford? You can put on a turbo, keep the boost low, get a tune and be on your way for a few thousand. The more you want to boost, basically double the cost as you look at it. So, are you looking to spend ten thousand? Then you can build out something really nice. Only got $500? Then I suggest you don't do anything to the car.

That's my perspective. Because especially a new person will break stuff inadvertantly and need to learn a few hard lessons, so be prepared.

Swap the heads if you want, but leave the rest alone if you want to keep it inexpensive.

^ agreed!

250-hp would be relatively cheap and reliable FI build. Or you could look for a V6 Accord that already has 240hp and build on that
