you can just wrap sandpaper around them, doesnt just have to be sticky paper.

It all depends on the size of the block. I wouldn't recomend doing that. Much easier and cleaner using the right stuff

x2 i use regular paper on my small block, i can see how on a larger block it would be a problem.

its not a problem at all, i even use long file non sticky on mine. its all in how you fold it.

A little one cost me like 7 bucks, they are a bit pricey but work very well

haha sorry man... have you tried norton its great paper for real. but 3m does make some damn good buffing compound though
