Default wierd humming noise

does anyone else have a high pitched humming noise when ur idleing coming from the engine? its a 2002 s2k

first off, put the cover back on. heat soak is not your friend.

second, taking the cover off will reveal that glorious humming noise.

so, put the cover back on and you wont have that humming noise and you wont have heak soak.

yes, you are exposing the filter to hot air. Our engines run pretty hot, so its a good idea to put the cover back on. You don't wanna be sucking up all that hot air. I've tested it myself, and my butt dyno told me there is a significant difference in power.

I'm sure you're right, but on the butt dyno, it feels faster with the cover off for me.

that is impossible in EVERY way, but we are just comparing butt dynos, so no proof given means no concrete conclusion.

Now, if you have your hood off with the airbox cover off also, then you have a valid post.

But like i said before, it is all just speculation and personal experience with the good ol' butt dyno.

It's really just louder. Loud = should be faster.
