Completely different ideas. Plus, the Civic Type R only costs about $25,000.

Both are designed as practical race versions of there subsequent base models, so they are classed the same in my mind.
Also given that the Mugen Si costs upwards to 30k, I have no doubt if the type R was released in the U.S. it would easily sell for 30k, not to mention the insane markup dealerships would put on it due to demand.

Nothing cheap about a type R, so pathetic still stands. Why spend 30k for a 220HP, FWD Civic when you could have a 300HP, AWD race platform that has nearly 2 decades of racing history and success? Fanboi is the only answer.

people who start talking up Evo's who have never owned one need to stop right now. They are piles. seriously, thanks for your internet skills, but you can stop now.

How quickly you are to bash the lancer , mugen si & civic type R
yet you joined an internet forum to discuss vehicles
so who is the real loser... the guy who went out ...dumped the cash on the car and used it?
or the guy who sits in the basement posting about how bad of a decision it was...

Gotta say, I'm not a big fan of the headlight shape on the Type R, or the chrome trim on the front. Otherwise the car is alright.
Personally I'd rather have the limited edition STi, which was fun to drive but there is no way I could afford the insurance on it at my age.
But on the brighter side, I've already got a 4 door Si. Let the modding begin.

I'm not much for bashing on the lancer, it’s a pretty slick car. Yes I did join a forum to discuss cars, sorry if it comes across a little to strong as bashing, but I’m simply discussing a comparison of 2 equally priced cars in the same class and my thoughts on each, to each his own how he spends his money, just expressing some thoughts. Oh, and if my apartment had a basement I would so lurk in it, sadly Tucson ground is to hard for such. ^^
P.S You know you love the Taurus! its the sexy ride, and my Stealth is waiting at the track for you anytime. ^^

What went wrong with your Evo? A co-worker of mine has an Evo MR IX I beleive. Very sexy car, very quick and he takes me out for a spin all the time and flogs the **** out of it, and not a problem yet. He also has quite a bit of it built-up as well.

I owned an 05 EVO 8 and with some mods and race time it was GREAT to me. The interior was a bit cheap but still one of my favorite cars I've owned. Please explain your opinion.

Wow, the fact that two cars are comparably priced and the fact that they both have 4 doors and 4 tires doesnt put them in the same class.
all wheel drive turbo and front wheel drive Natrualy aspirated cars are not in the same Class anywhere outside your thick cranium.
and as to your nieve coment about evos having decades of racing history, are you saying that honda Type-R's do not have similar prowess in racing history.
and calling potential owners fanboy's because the though of a car that makes 100+ hp per liter without the use of 18+lbs of boost like the evo...
I can tell your one of those people who thinks more horsepower wins the race.
and keep your stealth waiting at the track.. thats probably cause its out of gas and too heavy to tow home.
