How involved do you want the installation to be, and how much emphasis are you placing on the quality of the light output?
just shooting around ideas and seeing whats out there. i am looking for a middle of the road install and cost. i can get my hands on some lexus bulbs and ballasts for a reasonable price. i was more trying to find out if the non hid oem projector was ample enough for the upgrade. again just feeling out my options...thanks for the responses

They're okay, but the results will not be anywhere near as good as they would be if you swapped out the halogen projectors for a set of OEM HID projectors (but I'm sure you already knew that
). You won't get a tremendous amount of glare, but there will be hot spots and the beam itself will not be as uniform or deep as it could be. Many people often mistake the intense hot spots as an indicator that their lights are now greatly improved and much "brighter", but in fact, the hot spots are actually detrimental as far as actual driver visibility is concerned.

ive installed 2 MTEC HID kits on a dc and also a db with jdm itr frontends. i also have MTEC hids on my DA and SC300. they are plug and play. very easy to intsall
the output from the plug and play kit are better then halogen but still not great. light gets scattered all over the place. I suggest doing a retrofit. You can find a decent set of projectors for around 100bux. and go from there. If you shop around, a whole retrofit set up wil cost as much as a good HID kit. you'll just have to put the time to do the retro.
