Default JDM car shipped to USA. Questions!!! =]

I want to see how much it would to buy a 4door itr or 2door itr from japan and ship it to the US. And what would i need to do after getting it shipped here to get it to get registered to the DMV, get title, insurance????(would it be the same as if i had a USDM itr? PRICE, and etc. Please help me thanks. Anyone have japan online listings? thankss

I think you'll be paying a bit more to have it shipped, smogged and registered here in the USA. Also depending in the state you live, each state has different emissions laws and dmv laws. I would expect to pay thousands! extra before it is registered under your name.

Ive got a source that will ship from Okinawa to Florida, $10,000 which will get you a license plate and ready to go...

know several people who have done it.

fully registered with florida US title in hand for 10k? thats on the cheap side

ive tried to sell a few here, no one interested.


I could do a complete caR for somewhere around $18k. Car, my time, shipping, plates...'out the door' price.

Time from Okianwa to your hands on it is about 6-8 weeks. Car goes from here to mainland, motor/tranny taken out, taken into Fl as a kit car and reassembled as such. This also works out, as im told you can pretty much put any amount of insurance on it very easily...because its a kit car. Dont know the facts on that though.

My buddys DC5R will be picked up on the 12th of this month!
