OK SO HOW MUCH PSI. CAN I RUN ON A STOCK B20 VTEC?????

The psi/boost is not your main concern, its the size of the turbo your using first, that determines how much boost you can run. Everyone uses different size turbos which produces different amounts of boost. You can use a small mitsubishi turbo @ 15psi and put down around 210+ whp, or run a GT28R @ 15psi and put down around 280+ whp. Find out first which turbo you want to use, then you can determine or estimate how much boost you can run on your b20 block. Plus you may want to reinforce the b20 block since they have thin cylinder walls and will blow. I suggest sleeving it first and etc.

 

b20's have weak cylinder walls, you're definately going to need a good build before you can run any boost on it. Even then I wouldn't run more than 250whp.

 

to the OP, ditch the b20 block and get a b18c/1 block or do an Ls/v-t, it'll be more reliable then the b20v-t. Build the block first before the head, since the block will fail first. And with a turbo in the mix, additional heat will just decrease the life of the motor.

a b20 block is fine with boost. just depends on how much. detonation will kill the sleeves.

it's not because they are thin it's because of the way they are cast. k20 sleeves are thinner and hold up fine to boost.

i know what you're trying to say, but you could have worded it better. two different size turbo's will push different amounts of cfm and make different hp at the same boost level.

 

I dunno why everyone is trying to be so informative ..

can't really compare the b20 with the k20; they're completely different engines. if i had a choice between turboing a b20 or b18b i'd go with the b18b.

all im saying is people think b20 sleeves are weak because they're too thin. which is not the case.
