Times and 60ft isn't bad. I don't see how you were spinning too bad with a 2.1 on street tires but it was still pulling.

Not bad for street tires. Be careful, I broke a ring land on #3 piston at 12 psi on pump gas. I had a blast with my LS.

FWIW my car ran:

2.2760 60'
12.6821 ET
121.64 MPH

This was also on street tires, as you can tell by this **** 60'. If Steve didn't break into the 12's I dunno if I would have gotten my *** into gear and gone the 12.6.

Im pretty sure I can grab an 11 this year on the drag radials, I got some more tricks up my sleeve!

work on your 60'. if you havent learned thats the most important part of any drag race. your 2.5 60 is bad, shoot for 2.2-2.3s by learning to drive. at first its kinda nerve racking when your first learning to drag race just keep up with it and it will come to you.

Man...I love that manifold. 50mm primaries and its braced so no problems yet with 1500 miles of hard abuse and track time.

Just got home from the saturday show....

And wow....

Im very happy.

First pass of the night was a 12.36@115

Second was a no traction issue and ran 12.9 with a 2.3 60ft. So i wasnt sure what to dail in at. So i tried a 12.65.

Beat a new mustang gt with no traction out of the hole again and went to the second round.

Next i was up against 07 corvette who dialed at a 12.60 to my 12.65. Half way down the track i was about 2 cars on him and hit the breaks hard and came out with this....

Im pretty sure if i hadnt hit the breaks it would have been a 12.2-12.1.

I see 11's very soon if i can keep the tires on the ground.

that pass against the vette you had a 11 second pass in it. look at the 1/8th mile time 4/10ths ahead VS the 12.3 pass. shouldnt have hit the brakes.

slicks or DRs is the fastest most cost effective way.

back in the day when i had started running my 99 coupe i was running 9.9-10.0 1/8ths. bolt on some drag radials and immediately jumped to 9.7s, then 9.6s then beyond. as a straight up street car working your way down into the 12s for every 1/10 off your 60' = 2/10ths at the other end.
for example those 9.9-10.0s i was running were 2.2 60's. after bolting on those DRs i ran 2.0 60's and went into the 9.7s on down. the first 60' is so important when your first learning to drag race.

Well it's both. As you can see Steve (1320honda) is cutting a better 60' than I am and that's why his car is going down the 1/4 mile faster. Right now it's not because he has better tires but more because he is a better driver. I can't launch worth a **** on street tires.

Slicks would be the best way to go, but the reason I don't do it is because i don't have anyone to drive to to track with me so I can bring a jack and some slick and bolt on completely new wheels at the track.

We always have a crew out there with us that doesnt race their car. so if you wanna bring your stuff and change over and stuff you street tires and jack in one of our cars till the end of the night, your more than welcome to.

Comparing my 1/8 mile time on my 12.5 to the rest.....It maigh have just gone an 11.9. I would have crapped my pants. Considering that i was hoping for a 13.5 on friday.

Ya the manifold is the ssac twisted ranhorn. It was like 200 shipped and it has the 50mm primaries so it flows pretty well. I dont regret buying and of the cheap ssac ebay stuff at all. I know everyone on here is like 85% biast on their stuff bein crap. but i took everything apart befor ei put it on and inspected it and used the function 7 iol restrictor and its by far exceeded my expectetions. But im not gonna turn this into a SSAC good or bad thread. I personaly love their stuff for the price and im not looking for 600hp. Maybe over the next year or so ill start upgrading and to stuff that can support 600.
