Hey guys ive been searching around but couldent find any good info about putting LS headers on my 00 gsr. I want to go the 4-2-1 route and i found headers off ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1V
I was wondering if any one knows if those headers will bolt straight up to my stock cat. If anyone has experience with this let me know thanks.

i dont think thats the problem..i know the bolt pattern is the same. I can think of two problems. Either the headers are longer/shorter. Or the flange is on a different angle

 

the header's are the same length. the flange might be a problem.

anyone know for sure?

 

the length of the cat is different on the ls, or either the flange won't line up correctly, so no it will not work without modification.

 

in order for you to use the ls headers you will have to shorten your exhaust piping because the ls is longer at the bottom. the bolt pattern are the same with all b-series. not sure if it works but you can try using the omni power adjustable straight pipe if you don't want to cut your exhaust.

It should work fine. The bolt pattern is not different. The piping is not different. The length isn't different. 00-01 gs-r is the same as all other 94-01 ls/gs/itr. If you don't know, then don't give out bad info.

I have a header from an itr on my 01 gs-r and it fits fine.

There was quite a bit of misinformation posted in this thread.

Tomithy is the only one who is correct. No modification is necessary to install an LS header on a '00 GS-R. They're completely interchangeable.

 

i tried putting a dc header from a 00 civic si, and it wouldn't fit 01 gsr, it was also a 4-1.

That's because the Si's cat has a flange that is positioned at a different angle. This discussion is about Integra manifolds.

also remember the SI is a B16 which has a shorter deck height as compared to a B18c..B16 header ng on a B18c but B18c header on B16 is ok..downpipe will hang 10mm lower tho...

 

That's correct, though it also depends upon how close to the pan a particular manufacturer constructs their header. Certain B16A headers will have sufficient clearance to fit with the B18's roughly 8.9mm taller deck, while others may be too tight. I've never attempted to install a DC that was designed for the B16A onto a B18, so I can't say with certainty how close they build them.

That is exactly what i thought. Thank you for clearing that up for everyone. Its nice to see at least two people give out good info

What do you mean by "short"? If we're discussing US-spec manifolds, the only one that is shorter in length from front to back is the '94-'99 GS-R. The B16A is exactly the same length as the LS/ITR and '00-'01 GS-R, and all of them have the same 2.0" OD size collector (the internal diameter differs very slightly).

The JDM ITR header does have a larger 2.5" OD collector, and is indeed slightly longer than the US-spec LS/ITR or '00-'01 GS-R, but the difference in length is only around 1/2" - 3/4".
