Trunk SPRING tool from Honda, NEEDED or NOT?
Short and simple question for those who have hands on experience with this:
I'm doing a full build on my car. The trunk was off for paint. I am having trouble getting the trunk "springs", torsion bar, props, whatever you want to call them... back into the car.
I know Honda makes a tool to help get them in/out, but has ANYONE gotten them back in without the tool? I've searched and there isn't much out there about this. If you've gotten them in, what's your secret? TIA!

Just asked the accessory master here at work. He said without the tool, you will "virtually rip your ******* hands apart" LOL.

I have access to a MIG, but I don't want to go through all of that if there is a workaround for it.
If it comes to it, I will just have to order the tool from somewhere. Majestic Honda has no idea what tool I'm talking about, though... so it may be hard to find a dealer who does.

You got it !
It might not be a stock item, just ask for whoever does the accessory installs and see if he has an extra for you.

Doh! Majestic is a full week to order it.
Maybe I'll try again tonight without the tool. This time I'll wear leather gloves and a football helmet.

it is possible to do it by hand, but not by urself. mine got smashed. and we had to replace it... but it took me and a buddy to get it all back together.. and you must be careful, wear some gloves... because when that **** slips, those bars will knock the hell out of u... and that **** hurts bad. trust me.
soo, either get a friend, gloves, and some beer, or buy the tool.
