Default Got me a ITR type header, now need some suggestions on what to connect it too :-)

Got a good deal on ITR type 1 piece header, it has a 2.5 collector. Currently i have a stock SI exhaust. I know i am going to change the piping and was wondering if i could still use the stock muffler.

Let me know guys.

Thanks.

well, what size piping do you plan on using? if im not mistaken the stock muffler you want to re-use has a 2" inlet or close to that. but as for the header you can have a reduced welded up to make it 2" or whatever you want it to be. hope this helps!

ah, but if you cut the 2" inlet and weld a 2.5 would that be possible?

what the crap does the muffler have to do with the header? Or am I just missing something?

Umm, pipe reducer?

You can run the whole stock exhaust with it but nothing you do (aside from replacing the whole exhaust) will make it much better. If you replace all the piping with 2.5" but still use the stock muffler it'll still be 2" inside, nothing you can do about that. If it were me I'd just run the stock exhaust for now (do whatever to make it bolt up) and then get (or make) a nice exhaust later. In fact thats exactly what I did.

You can get any 2.25" exhaust available...greddy, buddyclub, thermal, etc...I wouldn't suggest going with a 2.5 unless you're putting out at least 200whp...

Yeah, I meant to mention that I wouldn't limit myself to 2.5", 2.25" should be fine, and I have a 2.25" lol
