Dings & Scratches - How to repair? (Complete Noob)
Hello Honda-Tech,
This is my first post. Ive been trying to read around find somewhere to make my first/introductory post but couldnt find anything that seemed like a worthwhile area for me to venture into.
First and foremost, you guys here are awesome, the wealth of knowledge and willingness to help others is phenomenal.
With that being said, I bought my '06 Silver Civic EX exactly 1 year ago this weekend. I absolutely LOVE my Civic and wish to start caring for it properly. I must confess, I have never been 'into' my car before and realistically, to say my care for it has been 'lacking' is quite euphemistic.
Ive taken a new interest in learning about my car and hoping to make some nice modifications within the next few years. I have to learn everything from the ground up as Im a complete and utter noob.
The first place I want to start is to learn how to properly care for my car. Ive got a few small dings/scratches on my rear bumper from idiots in parking lots and such. And I have 1 AWFUL scratch under the passenger side of my front bumper. Someone backed into me while I was at the mall and their tail-pipe did quite a number on my bumper. Too bad I was all the way across the parking lot and couldnt see their license plate. All I know is that it was a 95-97 Black Nissan Maxima.
Anyways, I want to start by fixing up these dings/scratches etc. Where is the best place to start? Ill be posting pictures of the dings etc later on when I get home from work.
Thank you for your time in reading my novel and I hope to stick around and learn a ton from you guys & gals.

Heres a picture of me and my car form the day I bought it... lay off the popped collar comments
- it was a picture for my girlfriend

It depends how bad the dings/dents are. I've removed some dents(on cars besides my 06 civic) with those hardcore suction cups but realistically it doesnt work every time.
Best option is finding a local place that does paintless dent repair. If they are THAT bad you may have to look into a body shop

My bad... I guess I worded it wrong. Its just minor scratches (with the exception of the one big one), no dents.
Tre_, I was reading your paint car/cleaning thread in the DIY sticky, but the details etc were removed from the first post. Is there somewhere I can find those details?

Look in the Appearance/Cosmetic forum sticky... theres links to products and how-to's.
God and his "girl"friend were hating on my DIY so I removed the content... seemed to think that I would ruin peoples paint with my process.... even tho I've been using those methods and products for 5+ years with consistent (and good) results I felt it was best to just get rid of my original post.
Theres TONS of detailing information on the intrawebz tho man, just search for it on google
