Yet, another Expo Thread.....<Phil Sucks pic included at no extra charge>
Ah....lieing on my bed is sure a god gifted feeling after 13 hours of driving.
Overall, I would say this event is well worthed it and I had TONS of FUN!
The road trip of sweeping through New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvannia, Ohio, Indiana and finally reaching near Lake Michigan had widen my vision of what this country really looks like. I've never been so far in a car before. This is indeed a REAL roadtrip for myself especially that I drove alone overnight from 11pm to 8am to meet up with the NE caravan in mid-Ohio...lots of crazy scenes and even hairy haunted experiences as well.
When reaching the hotel and watching people from all over the states driving by with friendly greetings makes the long travel well worthed it...even though I didn't sleep for 30 hours. Despite all the inefficient things organized by CGI, I tend not to let these things get to me and just to have fun. Upon arriving at Gingerman monday morning and immediately watching the Kingsmotor flying down the track simply made my morning wonderful. And although the lunch sucks(hardest rice I've ever ate) and those guys yelling at the control tower left some bad impression, but once I get on the grid and lined up waiting to go out....I'm pretty sure for the next 20 minutes, I will forgive everything!
Dinner at Big Boys next to the Guesthouse inn with the NE crew and Wai, Jack and Ken was great. I still want to apologize to Wai for spilling that glass of water on your legs.
2nd day was less exciting than the first one as half of the people were gone. But the 2nd day was the best part of the Expo for me because I got lots of track times, especially after 4pm when we had an open session for all cars that can go on and off according to their own will. I used as many seat time as I can get. One of the NE crew set the trip miles to 0 at the track on day 1 and at the end of day 2, it was close to 300 miles!!
Gingerman is a fun track...lot more fun than Limerock or Pocono. Although I spun off several times, but I often end up safely on the grass, it wasnt' as hairy as off-tracks in Limerock would be. Some said that the workers are inefficient at the flags, but I was black flagged several times due to minor errors, such as not going off right in the blend-in line, or failure to relase...etc. But by late day 2, there was only 1 corner worker at 3, and no one at "U" and 8-9
I also notice there weren't any fire extinguishers on the track, so I stick mine out infront of the grid area in case if anyone's brake went on fire...etc. (my brakes were smoking!). Like Wai said, I felt safe on this track. I know that feeling safe and being safe are two different things, but the event ended with no damage to lives(except thousands of insects) nor properties, so let's not argue anymore and just think positive.
Ok, done with the BS, here are some crucial pics.
Sunday evening (sun goes down at 9pm in Michigan!) People gathering outside the hotel to chit-chat and wait for more ITR owners to pull in...checking out the M3 as well.
Wes got here and discuss about the event.
Mandatory Driver's meeting, Phil is the guy upfront raising his arms.
Inside Bob's Kingsmotorsport ITR
I like this antenna more than the S2K's
Lots of bug kills on the track, this poor little fella apperantly got its head planted on my mirror, but still trying to get away....OWNED!
JDM Civic R
Inside the RHD Civic R
The Wendy's of Eternity, 30 minutes to grab some Spicy Chickens, NE guys and NC/FL guys.
The infamous and long awaited sighting: Chad back on day 2 to get something. CGI crew ran off in chaos radio-ing of what actions to take
If anyone wonder where the extra $6000 went.....here:

I am offended by your avatar
j/k....
nice pics
after reading about all the b/s that went on at this year's expo, I don't really regret missing it.
IF they decide to hold one on the east coast next year, I might still give it a try, if only to see that many R's gathered in one place
thanks to everyone for posting all the cool pics.

Don't want to start a huge flame war or anything, but what was the big deal with the whole "Phil Sucks" thing?
