Default Tire Treads Messed Up

I was driving home on the 401 today, and I was in the passing lane, I noticed that traffic up ahead (about 100m) was slowing to a stop so I start to slow down. The lane to my right was already almost at a stop, then a ****ING STUPID MOTHER****ING 18-wheeler decides to pull into my lane RIGHT in front of me!

I had to slam on my brakes to avoid smashing into his trailer and there was smoke coming from my tires as I skidded from about 80km/h to 10km/h in a few short seconds. Same (although not as bad) with a car behind me.

I was SO ****ING MAD!!! Trucks aren't even supposed to be in that lane, that **** obviously didn't check his mirrors or use his signal, and I almost crashed into him!!!

Now my tires are chewed up on the front where they locked up, at slow speeds I can feel that they aren't as smooth as they were. What should I do? Rotate them to the rear? Buy new ones? (which I don't want to do unless I have to of course).

Here is what they should look like:

Here is what they look like on the front in two patches:

And the weirdest thing happened, for some reason after the episode of slamming on the brakes my hood popped up, not all the way, just at that stage where it is up about an inch until you unlatch it to lift it the rest of the way. Why would that be?

I was so shook up about this incident, and now I am just furious at that trucker, I hope he gets what is coming to him. To top it all off, later in the day I am driving south on Avenue Rd. and because of construction the southbound lane is what used to be the left-turn lane. So some clueless driver pulls right out infront of me and comes to a dead stop, thinking they are in the left turn lane! Again I had to slam on my brakes (although it wasn't nearly as bad because I was just accelerating from a stop).

I am so annoyed at these erratic drivers!!!

What should I do with my tires? Why would my hood pop?

rotating your tires should be fine since most of your breaking is done on the front wheels, assuming that the sidewalls aren't ripped... not sure about the hood though... cf hood?... my bro had a cf hood fly off his car going at 120? get hood pins

Ya, I will have to get them rotated. The hood is stock, so I don't know why it would pop like that. I am more concerned about the tires, they are new and now they are messed up because of that retard trucker.

If they have a flat spot I would just replace them.

Yea, gonna put the summers on soon, as that's one of my winter snow tires. I flat-spotted the 2 front ones and they've since been rotated to the rear for the time being. That's a whole 4/32" burned off... they're getting trashed for sure. The slight thud-thud-thud-thud also doesn't help their cause...

Put some GOOP on it, might repair the tire. P.S just get a new tire.
