Best place for your V1 radar detector
UPDATE: I think I've posted this but I cannot seem to find it in search.
That's in my friend's integra gsr. Like I stated in one of my replies, some people put this display in their rearview mirror.
I know I've posted this before, but somehow I think it might have been looked over by most due to almost immediate responses to previous posts in the thread..
This set-up doesn't cover up any lights or displays on the dash either.
I think this is the best place for the v1 concealed display. Another thing that would be ideal is to move the mute button from the concealed display to, say, where the mirror adjusters are, or right by your fingers under the steering wheel.
Here's the location of my Valentine 1 radar detector (behind my wide Broadway mirror). The wire is hidden all around the door panel and roof except for what's shown.
The remote display which is next to my tach is awesome. I don't have to look up at it, and there are no lights which cops can see or for other people to follow me because they see that I have a v1. Like it's been discussed before, v1 is THE radar detector to get.
If I get pulled over, I take off the main unit, wrap the cord around my mirror, un-velcro my remote unit and let it hang next to my key
For now I reach up to the main unit to mute the v1, but I might move the button somewhere (like where the blank space is next to mirror adjuster).

i just hardwired mine...i'll get pics this weekend. Used an ordinary black phone cord & wired it into the dome light/sunroof harness, took honestly about 10 mins, looks perfect and works like a charm! Mine is sitting to the right of the rearview!
do you have a concealed display? otherwise, I'd imagine it'd be hard to look up and to the right of your rearview.
bah, I got hit by laser last night, but didn't get pulled over. was going about 78 in a 60. As soon as I got hit and my v1 went off, I tapped the brakes and slowed to about 67..
I was pretty much by myself on the road, no one near me...so that probably means it was a direct hit on me.... didn't see any cop though. He might have been on an overpass, but I guess he decided not to pursue.
Just to be safe I got off at the next exit and then just did a quick loop -_-
You still gotta be careful even with the v1.

You weren't hit by a traffic laser, count on it. I think there may be infrared detectors being used to take temperature readings for road conditions. Sometimes there are also lasers used for perimeter security detection at secure locations.

that seems like alot of **** to do for something that is THE unit to have. and that concealed display doesnt look very concealed to me. it looks like **** stuck to your dash with cords running to it. if you want concealed and clean looks, THE unit to have is a k40 2000 or a k40 calibre.

the concealed display is so there are no red lights up top where a police officer or an annoying follower can see.
People have taken the housing off this concealed display unit and put it in their mirror, in their clock area (like the integra). Making it look super duper clean -_-
Look at original post for the pic that i just added
