Default Turbo Kit on 04 Civic

I have never put a turbo on a n/a car so i am kinda lost. I have the stock D17a2 motor in my 2004 Civic EX right now with 40k. I want to put the dzm turbo kit off turbokits.com, AEM EMS, 630 cc injectors, Electronic Boost Controller, and DEFI guages on this summer in the next month. I want to know if this is safe to run this set up properly tuned on 6 psi until this winter in which i plan to pull it in the garage and fully build the motor?

well with the kit on turbokits.com the fuel management is the aem ems with 630cc injectors. i will probably get the kit off dezod though which comes with RSX-s injectors though.

you dont need 630cc injectors to run 6psi, you can do that on rsx-s 310cc injectors..

its gonna be overkill. You'll run so little duty the injectors probably wont run right. Buy 310s, and upgrade later. And the dezod kit is just like every other kit out there, its incomplete, and no where as good as going custom. Not to mention I dont care much for the quality.

well i just mapped out all the parts i got all my info from the Turbo FAQ thread.

Turbo Required Parts!

Turbo Manifold:
Any cheap one that performes well will suit me

Turbo [must match with manifold]:
This is still unknown to me. but most likely a Eclipse turbo that spindels quite fast for im going to e hitting the Autocross tracks

Oil Restrictor:
Can be found anywhere

Wastegate:
T25's are mostly gated, i will need an Actuator if the turbo does not come with one. if not internaly fated a external one is needed Popular choice is (Tial 38mm wastegate)

Intercooler:
Make one or find some if cannot be found Dezod makes some as well as Stafford Fab

Blow off Valve:
Cheap alternate is Bosch valve comes stock in (VW, Audi, Porsche, Saab, And volvos)
Looking for Porsche

Downpipe/Dumptube:
One can be made or baught Made

Fuel & management:

RSX Injectors, E-manage along with pressure sensors, & Wideband 02

Hoses, Lines, etc:

Oil feed, either -3 or -4 AN line for turbo's oil supply
-10 line from trubo drain back to oil pan
Coolant lines for Turbo
many couplers and clamps for IC pipes
High quality Filter (K&N)
Gauges - Boost Gauge, oil pressure, & wideband O2

PCV system:
Remove the Valve in the back of the Egine Block, get a 1/4 BSPT nipple from Mcmaster carr then route the line to a catch can.

This was pretty much my idea for now. i might make some minimal changes but all the credit goes to "boilermaker1" without him id be lost.

Youngcity its not your business to tell me what i should do with MY car. the question was not a poll of if i should turbo it or swap it. That is my choice. Thanks everyone else for the input and why is the dezod kit not complete?

Thing is. K20 is costly. i would rather just sell my civic buy a RSX and do that. it would be more benifitial for me to do that than to buy a K and swap. d series is one of the most depressing series of engines that honda has pulled out of thier ***. but hey. gota make do with what you got.

now my friend has his civic and its got about 364WHP and im not sure about the torque but those little things have potential. every car has potential. its just time and money spent on it. in the end you will get more power out of a K but... whats the point of having a K when your gona get tired of your car in due time and get a new one? most people will not keep thier car for more than 10 years. and even if they do by the time they get a K in it it will probably be within the 4-7 year mark of owning thier car unless they are rich and for some odd reason didnt go get a higher end car.

im just saying yes it is worth it to me because if something happens to the d17 i can replace it within a week for around $1000 or less. i have thought about a k series motor but that is more money than i wanna spend right now and im out 10k if something goes wrong with it. I dont know for sure if im gonna fully build the d17 but i do want it turbo'd. its only gonna cost me 5000 to turbo the motor i have. i will be happy with that for now im not looking for 600 hp or anything just more pep its my summer dd...

not only that but SOHC's produce a good amount of tq over DOHC motors too when boosted

well id say 9 after you get bare minimum to support Turbo. i found a nice Emanage Setting for the same format im going on Civicforums.com they got some good stuff but HT for the win!! look under 7thgen civics and look for a thread in the DIY engine section i believe. a guy is giving a really nice Emanage system for your turbo.

not sure if im gona buy a t25 or a eclipse turbo. i just need the turbine to spimn fast and reduce lag. AUTO-X!!!!

people have ran 10-12 psi on the stock motor and its held up...but someone has cracked our stock intake mani at 13 so...i wouldnt run more than 10 but thats just me...

dezod kit needs engine mgmt, injectors and gauges still...

and why do you insist on being so damn cheap? you found someone elses emanage calibrations and are going to use it, your still going to need a tune regardless...there are so many variables that its not gonna be the same even though it might be the same setup, and if it is a t25 its probably a tsi kit not some dsm turbo diy homemade turbo piece of crap...

on a side note, i just finished up my kit...my mani came back from jethot yesterday:

everything is set to go in a few weeks, EM2 link in my sig for more pics...
