Default Macco's 300$ paintjob

Me and a couple of my friends are planning on sendin our car in to get painted since we cant do it our selves being 16 and all. But we heard about the Macco's 300$ deal and were wondering if it would be worth it and how good it would turn out. i know thats really cheap so the paint job would be really cheap but has anyone done it and been satisfied with it?

So for the paint job we have to fix the damage or will they do it?

Basically all they do is spray the car. If you want it to turn out well, you need to prep it yourself, mask and tape everything yourself, then go back and color/wet sand it after they spray it. They've been known to paint over foglights, key holes, and other things you don't want paint on.

Good info here if you want to prep/mask/wetsand yourself. ... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1962364

a $300 paint job is a $300 paint job, its not going to be magnificant or even good

its oging to be what you pay for an ok job if you do all the prep work before painting

Just because your 16 doesn't mean you cant do it yourself, theres alot of information on here and other sites about painting. Maybe you could look into how much that will cost you and if you feel comfortable doing it, it would definetyl be more accomplishing, just an idea.

If your car is a total turd, and needs some paint on it, the $300 job will make it look ok, but if you are excpecting a nice smooth glossy factory finish, don't get your hopes up.

I started painting when I was 15. Anyways, as stated before, you need to do your own prep work for the 300 dollar maaco job, otherwise it is ****.

I actually am a painter at Maaco here in Ocala FL. They actually prep and mask the cars here very well. I was suprised to find out how they actually do these for so cheap but they don't cut any corners. I guess since its owned by different people, they all run things different. But I do have to say that I am impressed on the way do things at this Maaco. The single stages ar Nason and base/clear is Nason or Dupont.

Same at our shop. Tape everything. Very suprising for Maaco, but I guess the owner really cares about quality.

Write a little more clearly, and maybe I'll continue to converse, until then, I'm not gonna bother trying to decipher what ever it is you're trying to tell me. I'm guessing that your signature is advertising? Congrats on that...

What he said. Did you see my 93 black hatchy in the bigger thread? I'm 19 and used Interlux Brightside Black. Just got help from dad because he painted most of it. But I did most of the prep.

Turned out great FTW

I'am saying I OWN MY OWN BUISNESS,and I am trying to help.I CLEARLY said, that if I was where he lives (STATE WISE) I could of helped him out. For what you don't know Macco in South FL has a very bad REPUTATION MR.(...Lost) .There body shops do there jobs by the quantity not quality, and there paint jobs base/clear coat wise are okay. Why,okay because they have terrible tints.base coats mostly every color has 2-3 tints for color matches(factory cars for example ever wonder why down the road bumpers and mirrors turn brighter or darker than the rest of the car, plastic parts)example: (Phoenix Yellow integra type r, you'll notice mostly). When doing an overall it's okay, but when bringing a car there for a spot job(repair job) there color matches are bad, thus again Tints. Now I dont know how they run there shops, and paint jobs up there state wise. But I do know there base coats are still synthetic.(excuse my spelling,if spelled wrong)Synthetic base coat is not good,I don't want to get anymore technical and get you guys confuse. Not to mention alot of cars down here with macco has been sprayed with Laquer and Laquer is so bad(makes me sad)

So (...Lost),It's just not a (WHO CARES),thinking a paint job is a paint job.Now go ahead get that Who cares paint job and don't say later down the road Mr.Blue2000em1,was right about everything he has said in this thread. I do this for a living if you didn't know, and to be honest it's also my hobby. So I do try to learn as much as possible about what I'am using for my customers, and myself. So I make sure the stuff I use wont just backfire on me later down the road for me, and my customers.

And sorry If you couldn't read the bottom I'll put it in capital letters for you to read it better. I'd rather be honest with someone and tell them my point of view and tell them why I don't like it,and give them my Pros, and Cons of it.Then just give my customer a "Who Cares" paint job, sorry I'am not like that. Sorry (I am Lam) to put your car out like that the car came out pretty good for what it looks here, and I'am not kissing any butts,Like I said I'am very honest person.

I'd get enough buisness thank you, because I'am very honest, and tell my customers why (some) bodyshops cut through corners with body work and paint. Not every bodyshop gives the "paint job" you want,I know I seen people get F*^K.That's why I'am trying to help people out,and tell them to watch out for what bodyshop they go for like asked them what paint you use PPG,Dupont,Sherwin Williams,BASF(I use my favorite of them all not that syn b.s),Alsa corp(Urethane,or Laquer(Laquer is the worst stuff ever). How is it going to be laid base coat/clear coat, single stage..Primers,(Urethane or Laquer).Adhesion promoters,Epoxy primers(to prevent rust)Body filler(good bondos,RAGE for example),not that spot putty stuff. It's just thing you must ask your bodyshop you go to make sure your not just getting a half *** job.A pain job isn't a paint job.Yes you might get a nice paint job but later down the road a year or so chips, fades, color difference.

And I don't have a fuckk you attitude (SIred91) I'am really a nice person to my customer and PEOPLE when it come's to help. I just don't like when someone writes to me something stupid ,that has been already written in the bottom of my quote,I'd like to help people out this is why it's called HONDA-TECH,and I'd like the same in return thats why I use it alot ,when I'd need help.I dont like people who say stuff that has already been clarified. ,and sorry to all the people who thought I wrote that to be a smartass
