2 questions bout brakes and building motor..
well i finally got my crx back.. and im splurging a little bit, i ordered a set of 12.2 inch wilwood front brakes..just wondering if you think the caliper would fit a 15 inch rim? or do i need 16s...
and also i plan on building the motor to handle hopefully 350ish to the wheels in the next month or so.. do you think sleeves are really that necesary? ive seen 400+ on stock sleeve gsr's all the time.. would a b16 handle that?
and actually two more questions i have, i swapped a ys1 tranny when i first owned the car, and the vss sensor was electric so i was also looking for the jdm cluster with electric sensor so my speedo works again.. but there are some sir clusters that rev up to 9+ and go to 180 and euro ones that rev to like 8 and the speedo goes to 240, i assume the sir ones are in mph and they do have the electric speed sensor plug? and will that cluster fit right in?
and would an si wiring harness be everything i need besides the 4 vtec wires? theres kind of a hack job on the wiring when i swapped it in last year.

brakes - you'll need 16's at least, i'm thinking 17's might even be the minimum...??
you can definitely handle 350whp w/stock sleeves on a b16. like they say, it's all about tuning.
i'm not sure about swapping clusters, all the edm & jdm ones should read in km's though. you can always use a cable speed sensor if you want to keep stock cluster. it would be way easier
harness - if your stock harness isn't too f'd up, use that. you can't easily use a si harness on another car though.

you dont think the si harness would clean it up.. right now it looks like ****, when the guy wired it from dpfi to mpfi he just put wires everywhere.. i figured just get the si harness and then id have to just worry about the vtec wires? your saying the wouldnt be so easy?
right, if it runs ok now with the mpfi already done, then spend your time & energy to physically clean up the wiring.....reroute or tuck, whatever you want.
it's WAY more involved to swap harnesses. the plugs won't match up at your shock tower. total nightmare
good luck on your build

it runs now. thats about all. its a huge mess. the tach bounces all over the place the speedo doesnt work(which i was told vtec wont work if theres a vss code, is that right?), there about 6 codes the ecus throwing, my reverse lights dont work, my fan will only turn on if i manually ground one of the wires and tap the other into the positive side of the battery..
im not trying to argue at all. just trying to find the best way.
what if i take the entire setup from an si, the wiring harness and the harness the goes from the shock tower to the ecu
please bare with me on the dumb questions ha. they seem more logical to me, but you guys have definately had way more experience than me so any opinions are very much appreciated.
thanks guys

also where can i find the cable vss? ive been lookin online and cant find any, do you have a part number?

a cable vss out of any 90-93 integra is definitely compatible. *i've heard* you can even use ones from 88-91 d-series transmissions, but can't confirm personally.
to me it just sounds like someone did a sloppy job on your swap. the reverse lights are just a 2 wire switch, same with the fan....
bouncing tach i usually attribute to a failing ignition control module (igniter) in the distributor....although fubar'd wiring may play a part in your case.
my suggestion is: if you decide to scrap your engine harness, replace it with another one that's your year, make, & trim exactly.....then go ahead and make your necessary mpfi + vtec wiring changes. that way you know it's done right.
as for going straight to an Si harness, i've never tried that, but only heard over and over again not to do it. who knows, maybe someone who has done it successfully will chime in & say it's a piece of cake.

its got a brand new dizzy in it, so hopefully the tach has nothing to do with that..
so if when this swap was done, the "right" way to do it would be to get an actual SiR harness?
well wouldnt an si harness be just a SiR without the vtec wires?
again, im not trying to argue i just dont understand how it wont work, and i also dont want to deal with later headaches.
thanks mahatma!

No the right was is to use the stock harness for the car, and mod it to the new motor. If you are not familiar with wiring, and are intimidated by it, then I suggest you get a harness from rywire.
