Ok, Here's the deal.

I bought my 89 crx si last year, and JUST NOW getting it on the road. Went to buy corner lights for it (cuz it didnt have them and when i got them, stupid things didnt fit. My mechanic looks at it while it was in the shop and goes...Those are JDM fenders, and there's my reason for them not fitting

If they are actually JDM, than why dont they have side marker holes???? Please help, are they just after market JDM knock offs? everyday i find something new/wierd/interesting about this car. Any input would be super fantastic!!!!

here's a pic of the car after a nice clean bath last year. Its hard to see that the cornerlight housing is squared (unlike the USDM which is more rounded) but it only fits JDM corners.

i think theres really no difference in the fenders other then sidemarkers. as stated on many websites that oem fenders will still fit the jdm front end. so i assume fenders are the same just side markers on the jdm one as oem

 

Even if they were JDM they would still fit unless theyre from a different year........i think all JDM ones got Side markers.88-89 differ from 90-91

 

nope. The JDM corners are a little longer and squared, similar to the 4dr civics. But these are crx fenders. Here is what i have for fenders and the 89 usdm light fit up into the holes. My fiance has the exact same front end as i do (he has a 91 hatch) and his fenders are definately USDM and have the rounded corners like i do in this picture. I compared my fenders to the JDM ones on passwordjdm and everything is the same, except mine dont have the side marker holes.

those dont look like the right corner light... i have a jdm front with jdm headlights and corners and my usdm fenders fit fine. check the year of those lights or make... for which car.

 

No... those are hatch lights on a crx.... JDM and USDM 88-91 fenders are all the same... the only difference is the 88-89 fenders have little things to put the screws in and 90-91 have clips. Go buy CRX corners and everything will be fine.

Well i just did a little more lookin up and never knew the 88-91 civics and crx fenders were different!!! boy dont i just suck haha. Thought they were always interchangable...hm

NOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY! ...haha i now know something my mechanic doesnt

 

Holy misinformation!!!

Them are hatch lights on a crx.

88/89 were different as they had 2 visible screws holding them.
90/91/JDM had no visible screws as they had slide in clips and one mounting screw by the headlight moderetly hidden.

Either year can be put on either year by changing the plastic mounting clips and headlight buckets.

Only thing you cant interchange is hatch to crx.

The lights in the picture are not of a '91. Also are you saying then that the fenders from America are the exact same as Japan? or that Japan's is more squared? I didn't quite get that.

I didnt know the corner lights and fenders werent enterchangable with a crx and civic 88-91. idiot me bought the wrong lights and was really confused on why they didnt fit. But NOW i know the fenders arent enterchangable.

I always thought the 88-91 crx and hatch fenders and corners were enterchangable. got these lights and they DEFINATELY didnt fit. and couldnt figure out why. I guess i just didnt pay attention when i bought my lights, figuring it didnt matter. Kinda like the 92-95 coupes and hatches enterchange.
