Default Corsport Shifter Bushings - Finally in stock

Well, after waiting 2+ months, Corsport finally received their Aluminum shifter bushing for the 2006 / 2007 SI.

I should have them in a couple days. I have never installed anything like this before, and really don't want to pay my mechanic to install just these. Is there anything I need to look out for, in installing them? How long should this take and how difficult will it be?

The other thing I have is the Honda OEM interior light kit (the Blue lights that will show under the dash). I order it from CollegeHills Honda, and it has been sitting in the garage because I am intimidated by the contents of the box. It has the lights, a wiring harness, a new switch panel and 20 pages of instructions. The instructions say to replace the switch panel where the fog light switch is, but I can't because the mirror adjustment switches are located on that the panel. I guess I will have to install a separate switch, which is no big deal. The other problem is that the instructions say to use the accessory plug on the existing wiring harness. The problem here is, that plug is already being used (not sure if it's the fog lights or the after market stereo stuff). Again, I do not want to pay my mechanic to install it. Besides, he would give me **** because he does not go for the showie stuff.

Has anyone else installed this kit in a SI? Think it would be ok to not use the enclosed harness and just wire up the lights separately?

Thanks for your advise.

I just ordered this on Sunday. Monday, I got two emails from them. One stated the item is on backorder and should be here in two weeks. The next email...exactly five hours later...stated they just came in stock and will ship immediately tomorrow.

the bushings firm up the shifter feel and get rid of the play when jiggling the shifter side to side etc...

theres 2 sets...cable bushings and base bushings. if someone can help hellzcivic out regarding install that would be great. i will be doing the install of the bushings and ss in a couple weeks

Charlie,

The shifter bushings should be fairly straight-forward.

Your interior lights can be installed but you'll have to find a different location for the switch. Your foglights are using a certain portion of your main harness(under driverside kickpanel area) that is designated for accessories, basically you can use a jumper(or "splitter") which allows you to "T" off the pinout and add another accessory to the circut.
The install can be a bit time consuming but its really not that difficult.
Hardest part may end up being finding a good spot for the switch

Hi Trevor. Thanks for the help. You would not by chance know the part number for the "T" splitter for that accessory plug would you? Is it a Honda OEM part?

Thank you Sir

Easy took me less than half an hour, no problem. The only problem was that I lost one of the E-Clips. Got a new one though

u could always just get some 6" neon tubes and wire em up to ur headlight switch so that when u turn on ur headlights the floorboards light up. i did it in my old accord and it didnt look too bad. if u tuck the tubes up in there so u can see em its pretty decent. plus alot easier than all that. im probably goign to do it again on the si, but this time go with red or some other contrast for the RR. either way, gl and hope it turns out nice.

also ordering hte bushing pretty soon

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am thinking I will just leave them out of the SI. Maybe I will modify them a bit and install them in the boat cabin. That, or install them in my son's car (when I get it).

Thanks
