Default Finally prepped bike for 07 Season... (56K not so much)

Well, I spent the day getting the 929 ready for it's 2007 track debut this weekend, and I snapped some pics. Not a whole lot knew for this year.... some updated graphics, some new tire warmers, new tank, just odds and ends. I could use some new race skins, but I can't talk myself into it, as these work just fine. That 800 bucks will be put towards 07 600RR. In the meantime, enjoy some close-ups of my baby. Not bad for 7 years old and 12K hard miles.

awesome.

but i'm curious from looking at the sticker on your tach: what's the advantage in flipping the shifter "motogp style"?

nicely put together.

the GP shift advantage is for shifting ease.. easier to shift into gear than having to adjust your foot under the peg to shift.

really it is just preference

Not getting your toes stuck between the shifter and the pavement is another +

Nice bike! I like the rear rotor too.

Yeah, it's almost necessary deep in a right turn and running out of available rpm. With gp style shifting, a mere push on the shifter and you're good. Now, try and get your toe under the lever in the same scenario.... it's tough.

HA HA HA! I'm glad you said that. I machined that on my own with a drill press and a mitre box! O.K., so I'm a cheap bastard!!! Saved some weight anyway.

I made those too in my own new vinyl shop. I'll do any job you want, just let me know. You won't beat my prices either!

I run upside down shifting on my bike. I had it on my RC too. I don't know if i could ever go back. It's just too much fun tapping up through gears.

I hope you don't mind me asking but what clip-ons and master cylinder (front) are you running?

I'm thinking of swapping a 929rr/954rr front end onto my f4i, which is the reason I'm asking.

Absolutely beautiful bike btw.

wait so lemme get this straight... you hit the lever down to shift up? and to downshift you pull it up?? I do see the advantage though, have you ever forgot while on the road on another bike?

is that one of those clutchless shift things? do you use your foot to shift, or push a button on the bars?

I've been riding GP shift for over a year on the street, I cant ride a bike with normal shift anymore.

GP > Normal. Hands down.

Happy to help... They are Woodcraft 3 piece clip-ons which are MUCH easier to install and adjust, but more difficult to safety wire. The brake/master cyl. assembly are Brembo 19x20. That is, after the suspension work, the MOST WONDERFUL MOD in the world. It's pure magic what control you have over that front brake. I never had a radial master cyl. before this one.

Uhh... I'd be lying if I said no. When I wick it up a little bit on the street, my weak mind wants to GP shift, but my Blackbird cannot easily (or inexpensively) be changed, so it stays a standard pattern.

I agree.... it's nice.

Thanks for all of the compliments.

Reverse shift. Not GP shift.
