Default Need Water Pump input from fellow EF swappers: B16/B18 Woes

Okay here is the scenario. I am running a built B16 with a GSR head that have both been milled a little. 10 thousandths or something each can't remember. I have my GSR waterpump (22 teeth) and I have both a b16 and a GSR timing belt and with the B16 belt I can't get enough slack in the tensioner to install the belt, but with the GSR belt I can't get the tensioner to take up enough slack to make the belt tight like it should be. I have been to Autozone AND the Honda dealership and looked at the waterpumps for 99 Si and 96 Del Sol's and they are all 22 teeth! Hell the Honda dealer even lists the Civic waterpump with a P72 part number! I need someone to sell me a 19 tooth waterpump because I can't find one anywhere. I have been building this car for over a year and it's getting old dealing with little nitpicky **** like this. Someone please enlighten me! Thanks fellas,
Indy

go down to the autozone and and ask for any b series pump till you find the right one, it sucks but i had to do that once. my roommate had one and he asked for a 94 delslow but they gave him a 19 tooth.

Ask for an integra LS pump... Personally, I would try to use the 22 tooth with the GSR/Type R belt as it will spin slower at high RPM...

h8tred, you have spurred my interest, is there a belt which is in between the length of a GSR and a B16? LS, ITR? If I could find one that was just 2 ribs shorter than the GSR I would be in business, but I just can't get the tensioner to go any tighter, unless I can find a tensioner (b16, LS, ITR) that was a tidbit larger or adjustable a tidbit tighter. Anyone??

I don't have any personal experience, and the info I have is from reading about a LS/B20 block with GSR head I think. In that post they used the ITR belt. So either the B16 cam gears have a different number of teeth or the GSR crank gear does. I can't be sure as I'm a D fan myself.

Here's the link, not sure it will be all that helpful, but perhaps the poster could point you in the right direction as he is sure to have more knowledge on this subject.

Well I got back in the Zone. Autozone! Yeah it was the LS Pump that is 19 teeth. Should have known; Non-VTEC=Less than VTEC. Thanks for the info h8tred. Check out myspace (in my profile) for some preview pics of the car. It has a long way to go but the engine work is almost done I just gotta slip this timing belt thing together and then I can go to the exhaust shop to get my new downpipe made up for the V-band, break the engine in and DYNO time!
