Im getting a squeaking noise from my SRD around the hip bolster area whenever I apply any sort of pressure to it or move around in the seat while driving. Usually its not a problem, and ill turn the radio up, but its becoming worse. Has anyone here experienced an issue similar to this, and what was the problem? Any ideas? I thought I'd ask before I go tearing my seats out and looking for what was wrong. If there was a problem with my seat, would recaro warranty it?

 

My stock USDM ITR seats used to squeak a bit, and I believe it originated from the internal adjustable lumbar mechanism. I'm not really sure what kind of solution you'll be able to find, but I sincerely doubt you'll be able to get warranty coverage from Recaro.

 

my Recaro SR2 squeaked and it drove me insane. i finally took the seat off and sprayed lube on the rails and the squeak went away

 

mine squeaked as well, thought it was inside the seat but turned out to be the seatbelt catcher, lubed that up and the squeaking went away

 

i have jdm itr's in red. my passenger seat squeeks also near the pivot point in the lower portion of the seat. it drives me crazy.

 

The squeaking usually come from the seat rails. Greasing them can work but I have often seen that they need replacement to fix this problem. It seems like an easy fix but it tends to be a defect from the factory.

 

this may sound stupid but i have to ask because i don't know. What exactly are JDM red suede Recaro's SRD? let me rephrase that, what is the SRD? are they still JDM?
