Default Velocity stack

anyone ever run a velocity stack just with a screen to the front grill.

I was thinking about setting something uop like route my intake piping to the front grill and have the velocity stack right behind it.
Do you think this would help the engine breath any better!

by the way its a sohc zc.
with full 2in exhaust no cat!

also with more air do you think bigger injectors would help I was thinking about getting some obd-o prelude injectors and a new cam later down the road.

does "just with a screen" = without a filter?

if so.. thats a dumb idea.

do you really think you will be getting that much more air with your idea? to save you the time, no you wont.. and definitely not enough to warrant bigger injectors, although my guess is that the prelude, like nearly all other honda injecters, are simply 240cc injectors...so your injector "upgrade" isnt going to get you anywhere either.

what happens if you hit a big puddle of water?

i say try it and see how long your engine lasts. Gravel collecting intake FTW

my car is a project car!

so with that said I realize if I was to hit a puddle I would be pretty fucked( but it is about to be sumemr time In cali and we havent seen much rain at all. I was gonna add a bypass as well. but I was just wondering if a veloctiy stack would do anything at all. and I think the lude injectors are 290.

anyone else have an idea

Get bigger injectors and add some more too, just one in the oil pan with a spark plug'd be cool.

I doubt you'd need it for the minimal gains you'd get, but a good cam could be helpful to you, what were you looking at? The ZC is pretty aggressive.

You can't just slap in different injectors..

The bends necessary to move the intake to the center of the grille will cause a bigger restriction than any gain by moving it there. Leave it where it is and take out the headlight at the track (if you actually have a car that it'll make a difference, not a bolt on d-series).

if you also get an adjustable FPR and adjustable cam gear... it'll definitely be beneficial.
