Default Stock 2000 Civic EX Problem, need help.

So for the longest time I had a CEL for an O2 sensor that I never got around to fixing.

Well, earlier today.. my engine had very little power and it wouldn't rev past 5k rpm. I replaced the O2 and its STILL doing it. At least the o2 sensor is fixed.

The engine fires on all four cylinders and it seems like as if the ECU is cutting fuel or spark and once it hits 5k rpm it just feels like it hits a rev limiter.

Help!

Did you reset the ECU? If you didn't just take the negative battery cable off for a couple of minutes and put back on. Try that if you haven't already. Also, when was the last time you did a tune up (oil, plugs, distributor & rotor cap, wires, some fuel injector cleaner, etc..) Good luck.

He's OBD2, after 2 drive cycles he shoudn't encounter any problems when the computer recognizes that the O2 sensor is working. Do you have a CEL?

May be a form of limp mode, make sure your Oil Level is good too, if its low, it will disable VTEC, and along with a CEL, it can put you into limp mode.

No CEL. Thats cleared.

I pulled the positive battery terminal for a healthy 10 minutes and reset the ECU. Oil level is nominal.

As for tune-up. I just bought the car, so my assumption is that its never had a tune up. I'll do that. It really does feel like a limp mode spark cut out though.

Just did a tune-up. Cap, rotor, plugs. Still nothing. Still no CEL.

At WOT when it begins to bog, it makes like gas leak like sound.

Any other ideas?
