So what do you guys feel about people swapping K20s in their ITR?

Can you still call it a Type R?

Cross dressing?

just wondering what everyone else thinks

feel great about it unless it's a "bigger" ITR motor

if your worried about it being a collector's item or holding it's authentic value, then no.

The purists will tell you, "no" but in the end it's your car.

But ask yourself... why? What's the benefit? Do you just want to drag race the car? etc

I am currently swapping my b18 out for a k20a just to keep it all ITR. To all the skeptics, just ride in a teg that has a k20a in it and you will want one

IMO I'd say keep the B in it that is what makes it a dc2.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by nholmes &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The purists will tell you, "no" but in the end it's your car.

To add on to this watch this video I really don't see a difference so I'd just keep the B. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...earch=
that was part one forgot part two here it is http://video.google.com/videop...91044

I am currently going k series in my ITR. Different people want different things. I am not plannign on drag racing the car that much. I do plan to track the car as much as i can, but more autocross use most likely. And you cant compare a DC5 chassis with a k20 and a DC2 chassis with a b. Compare a K swapped DC2 against a B series DC2 and you will MOST Likely see a difference on the track. Not sure though....just my guess.

My car was kinda jacked up from the get go. It had been broken into (interior stereo before i owned it) and had a GSR in it and just wasnt original as it was. I am not out to make it a collector car, but it should be a fun car to drive everyday, and a great track car i hope. Not to mention there are only a few K20DC2R's out there.

I was making more of a purist post stating that the B series will still hold up on a track, street, drag, or autox.

O yea most definetly. But a K has a lot more technology in it just making it a motor that has a lot of potential with out touching internals 250whp can be acheived and its goan take a lot more with a b series to hit 250.

Both are great motors and can be made into some serious track motors, but it comes down to a personal choice and if you have the moeny to swap in a K.

I bought my R to replace my totaled RSX-S and have been struggling with this issue since. The K is a great engine and the DC2's balance is beautiful. To reconcile, I may pick up an old GSR chassis to mutilate and make into a hybrid. For now, I feel like leaving the ITR with it's B series... besides, the B spins to 9 grand oh so smooth.

I thought about this decision for mine for ever. After i had started buying k swap parts i was like nahhh ill stick with b. And buy an eg later and put the k in it. Well money is to tight and im trying to get back into school. So i plan on finishing this project and getting to school.

It was a tough choice, but i know i shouldnt be unhappy with it. Every one i know who has gone k loves it and wouldnt go back. And a k swapped car is sooo much fun to ride in!
