1992 Integra with a ITR swap or a 1998 civic dx all prettied up?
Found a freind of mine who is selling his 1992 acura intergra with a low milege ITR swap in it. Think that would be a better decision then a 1998 hatch with a bunch of stuff done to it minus a swap?

I would personally go for the swapped integra.
But its really up to you. What do you want?

i think you would have far far more fun in the 92 teg.. but it basicly comes down to looking fast, or being fast.

I'd say ITR, but that depends on condition.
Upload pics, if you can.
Remember, you can always swap ITR into the ek later on, given you had the money.

Re: (TScribeSi)
yeah i was thinking if maybe i could get the hatch for about 5 or so.... it has a lot of stuff done to it to make it pretty nice. but the teg is selling for 6. i'll see if i can get pictures. But yeah anwyays... if i could get the hatch for 5, and save up 500 bucks.... could get a greddy turbo kit for 1,500 bucks. Would a turbo hatch be better then an integra with a ITR swap?

I used to have an ek hatch and i wouldnt even look at the stock motor. Its a d16y7(in a 99, anways), which makes a little over 100hp. If youre gonna do engine work, swap to a b series. A USDM b16a2 would be a legal and easy swap, so I'd do that.
As far as greddy goes, you dont get much bang for your buck. Id go Rev Hard, the kits come with everything you need, boost higher then greddy, and are cheaper. By the way, most good turbo kits, especially greddy, cost a lot more than 1500.
Oh, and......I really hate buying modified cars because you dont know how reputable the work was to em. Really man, the ITR is very tempting, and I know a cool lookin hatch is....but its a lot safer and more fun to buy a stock car and do the mods yourself.

Re: (matt7277)
I wouldnt say theyre an alternative, but theyre way better than a turbo d16, in my opinion, just cause theyre better motors.
H22s in civics haul ***, but its not as easy a swap as b series. With 6 grand, you could find a 92-96 prelude VTEC(h22), and have ***** and style. Or, if youre lucky...could find a Del Sol vtec(b16).
Im just more akin to DOHC VTEC. SOHC non vtec, doesnt do it for me.

Re: (chemical)
hmm. seems as though most of the people are saying to go with the hatch instead of the swapped Inegra. Well the hatch has CTR lip kit, freshly painted dark blue body, duck bill, apex n1 exhaust, rota RnR 17" rims with zeik tires, leather gsr interior, si door panels and console, and a lot of other stuff that i'm pretty much forgeting about. The guy that had it planned on putting an LS motor into it and had it all in his possesion and ready to go but then he decided to sell the car. He's saying 5,800 bucks for it all and it only has like 50000 miles on it so it would be a great semi new car for me coming from a 99 civic ex with 170000 miles on it.
I heard that doing a turbo set up on a non vtec hatch would be pretty nice too cause of the lower compression with the non vtec head, like i'd be able to run a lil extra boost. Would the boosted 1.6 non vtec come close to the performance of an all motor Integra?

Re: (JDMisGOOD)
Personally, I'd go neither...Get a 5th Gen hatch and drop a GSR motor. As I did, yet done with a 95 Civic Sedan with a JDM GSR motor. I've raced a d-series turbo and there was no contest. Sure, I only won by a car length or so, but a win's a win, right? Besides, I'm running near all motor with intake, groundwires, headers and exhaust and full interior with sparco seats and 18'' Tenzo RS5 wheels and a 12" sub in the back (all yet to install type-r skunk2 manifold, MSD, hondata heat shield gasket, AEM cam gears and pulleys, Edelbrock 65mm throttle, Toda timing belt, to say the least. Although my current setup was a little expensive, but who does sedans? limited edition seats? Minus, the asthetic appeal, my car alone and swap was less than 10 grand (car = 5,000 back in the day, motor = 3,500 shipped, swap = 1,100) Did I mention it used to be an automatic?
