Default Transmission question

Hey guys, so I recently bought a 2000 Accord V6 automatic as a daily driver/beater, and it seems like there is a extremely large delay/shift shock between 1st and 2nd gear. I read some of the stickies up top, and there was probably one short segment about it, but nothing with a clear answer. I'm assuming this is a problem in more than just one Accord? Is there any way I could somehow fix this or bring it to the dealership and ask them to fix it?

if it isn't warm the car purposely won't lockup the torque converter to make it warm up quicker.

This happens at every time, warm or not.

not being mean or anything but if you would have done some better searching you would have found 1 million posts about this..your tranny is slowly but surely crapping out on you...the 98-02 accords with automatics are crap..they have a 100k miles warranty on them..sometimes if your over they will still do the tranny for free just depends I guess...they have some sort of problem with 2nd gear and they go out before 100k miles usually sometimes a little after...I believe if im not mistaken that ford built the trannies thats just what ive heard anyways correct me if im wrong!

Sorry, I tried checking out the stickies for something like this but couldnt find anything except a small read. So if I bring it into the dealership, they will swap it out for free?

Gonna search and check out the older threads

milage on your car? if it is under 109K Honda will fix it for free unless your car has a salvage title or an in service date of November 1st 1999 or older. They might help you if your inservice date is close to the 7 year 9 month cut off but they don't have to).

yea they will fix it for free..like yeuemmaimai said it depends on the mileage...I thought it was 100k miles but he says 109k so I guess thats right I dont really know because I dont own one ive just read these kinds of posts a million times so now I know lol...take it to your local honda dealership and tell them the problem and tell them you want it fixed..that is if you have the correct mileage...if not call america honda and ask them about it they might let it slide if you have over 109k miles..who knows..its worth a shot
