Door swap.
Okay I know that the pannels arent interchangeable but are the doors? I have a 91hb and I also have an 89 sitting around. A kid I know told me that he was going to swap doors with an 89 on his 91 because they were lighter since they didn't have all of the seatbelt stuff in them. I don't care about the weight savings that much but the other doors are straighter than the ones I have which means less body work. Let me know
What about the weight differences? Is it that noticeable? If I was to do the change I would have to to a complete color change on the 89 doors and need to know if it is really worth it.
have a question similar. i have 88 crx doors, and need to install them into my 89 (door mounted belts), they will direct bolt no prob right? and close fine? im kinda worried bout the little extra support crap on the pillar... if ya know what im talkin bout....

Hell yes. The difference is huge.
You can tell just by opening the doors.
89-91 doors feel like your pushing dead cows hanging on meathooks.
88 doors are super light..to me atleast

Well guys I started tearing into my car today. The answer on the doors is that 88-89 will work on 90-91. But not the reverse. Because of how the pillar mounts are the pillar on the door of the 90-91 hits before it latches on an 88-91.
Here are the doors I tried to use.

Here are my old ones, still in okay shape but will need work.

Here is a shot of the 89 door on my 91. I was unable to get a shot of the 91 on the 89 because it would not stay. I'm doing this all on my own for now.

Nope, sorry! The car is a whole. I was just going to swap doors but since mine can't go back on the 89 then no swap. Regardless the moldings stay with the car.
