Went to this import showdown event here on Sunday. Car ran consistant and didn't have any issues until the finals when the car just didn't have enough time to cool down. I ended up qualifying first with a 10.17@149. Got a bye in the first run because the #8 guy broke in his second qualifier. Then I raced this supra in the semi's and raced a turbo buick in the finals. The buick definately got me out of the hole with his .030 light to my .100 light. I looked down at the temp gauge at the top of second and saw it was wicked hot. I shifted to third and it continued to climb so I let off and ran a 10.88@105 to his 10.11@137.

Plug for racerstev......I have his heat treated gears in my car and have made over 30 low 10 second passes with no issues at all!

I have to say this was the largest turnout at any Import Showdown I've been to!! Your car is also the most consistent Honda I've seen in a while. Between you and Paul(turbotegB18c) it seems like keeping it clean and simple is the way to go. The car also looks damn good-paint in immaculate.

Your qualifying run and 2nd round elimination runs against Clark's Supra were just plain beautiful!!! It was great meeting you and talking to you and hopefully we'll see more of you at the local events. Are you coming to Import Faceoff May 20th?? It's in Steele, AL. Danny Smith w/ the blue SPEC Clutch EG(turbotypeR) said he'll probably be at that event also.

best import show down iv be to as well lot of fast cars. me my self had to be the absolute worst day of my damn life! one thing after another hell i started letting my wife drive it ones i lost. i could go on and on but at lest i finally started getting min to hook up that was my mane concern

We where hoping you would beat that buick,but we knew if u didnt get out the hole better you lost, as soon as we saw him jump first we knew it was over for you.That buick was perfect on the tree..

i had a great time. i was having issues with the boost by gear in the hondata among other things.the first round of eliminations i had to race the buick.i knew the only way i would beat him was to get him out of the hole,so i was all over the light.i redlighted by .011, drove around him on the other end by .265 and ran my best time so far,a 10.42@149.looking at the datalog,the car was doing 9400rpm,and the mph should have been 155+.i have been having problems with the clutch master cylinder,and i think that was what was causing it.also,the slicks are completely worn out.they don't even get sticky anymore.i am going to fix the master cylinder problem and have some new slicks at the ifo at steele.maybe we can get some good times finally.

That was the best turnout I have ever seen at import showdown.
Seems like drag racing is coming back.
There was also a drift show in cordele, they said there wasnt a good turnout there.
Everyone was prolly at reynolds.
My buddy was there in the MS class and ran a 10.7.
Black 91 hatch turbo LS motor.
Fun day at the track non the less.

 

Danny will not be selling his car, I feel sure he loves it too much.

From what I'm hearing this might be a fast event.It should be like the montgomery event last year and the bump be well into the 10's
