88 crx zc dohc wont start HELP !!!
i was driving my crx and i was coming into my driveway and my car made light ticking noises and the car shut off and died. Starter works, battery is strong, timing belt is good, but car will not start, battery light indicator is on when i start it i dunno what it is. if anyone has any suggestions it would really help me out. thanks
check the main relay first you shoul here 2 clicks and the check engine light should come on for a few sec. and go off. the main relay is a two part relay powering the fuel pump and the other part powers the ecu

Start here first. This is a common weak link for our vehicles.

the starter turns the flywheel, but its jsut not starting and the battery indicator is on on the dash could that be the main relay?

the reson my sounded like that its cus i had no compression but fills if yours ran before this there is no reason why you should have no compresion and if you said that there whas a slight ticking than you might have had the same problem i did
the valves where to tight and it hit my pistons i hope this did happen to yours cus you going to need a new motor

naw it still puts out the exhaust when i crank it like i can hear it putting from the exhaust ..... it was running before i dunno why all of a sudden it would just stop like that ???
check distributor rotor/timing/axel bearing - if the distributor
axel bearing is not ok, the rotor might have taken heavy contact
against disrtibutor cap terminals, and the rotor position and
timing migth be wrong (happened to my d16, timing was about
180 degrees off)

yeh it was light ticking not my pistons killing valves so the same thing happened tp yer d16 did it make light ticking noises ???? before it shut off
phils i had a d15 in my civic come on dude and no it didnt shut off it just ran and sounded like super crap but listen to the other guy on top of your last post thats what i would do or if you have any spare cash i can give you the number to a mobile mechanic that wont charge you an arm and a leg
Check your Cam timing. It sounds like the timing belt slipped and jumped a few teeth. Thats why it cranks like it has no compression. It may be firing the spark plugs when the valves are open. I have seen this happen before.
