Transmission fluid question

Default Transmission fluid question

i just bought a jasper racing trans for my 95 civic. its a single cam vtec. anyway my owners manual says to use two quarts of 5 or 10w30 motor oil. my freind that works at shaperd racing says to use some kind of syncro mesh or something thicker. any advice????

synchro mesh is over-rated.

Run honda mtf.

BTW i've never heard of those trannys.

theyre actually a pretty big sompany. they just started carring import stuff. theyre mainly v8 stuff. the sell crate engines. trans, deisel, all kinds of stuff.

not really if anything its underated IMO,i use it and noticed more smooth shift feel,

i use penzoil syncromesh

i used mtf IT IS YES FORMULATED FOR YOUR TRANS, BUT SINCE most people run there trans hard i highly reccomend using redline or syncromesh...

I'll agree, the sycromesh was the choice that all my Honda buddies have been using.

I did notice that their cars were shifting smoother after it.

^^ gonna have to disagree with the oem comment. I used to have a slight 3rd gear grind, then I changed to amsoil mtf syncromesh.

Go Amsoil!! My dad is a dealer for them, and we used to have major shifting problems in our S10 (which takes syncromesh) After puttin the synthetic Amsoil, that thing have never shifted smoother!!!!!
