Default Which muffler?

I have a greddy evo catback , but the muffler is in bad shape and getting to loud. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions for a replacement muffler that I can replace it with. I don't have the money for a complete catback system and won't for awhile but want to have a decent muffler. thanks

Rsx muffler.

Gsr muffler.

Something stock.

I got my rsx-s muffler for $30 at a junkyard.

I'm about to start selling them for $120 shipped

It's a muffler, let the muffler shop figure that one out. Shouldn't cost more than $30 to get it welded on.

I replaced my tanabe muffler with an OBX twin loop that I bought from ebay. Very quiet and really cheap. If you are just replacing the muffler part you will have to go to a muffler shop to have them welded on.

I had an SNL twinloop on my old hatch, loved it so much I picked one up the week I got my new car Hell I like them so much I'll be using it on my 3rd consecutive project car.

On my hatch it was a '96 spec ITR header, highflow cat, mandrel bent 2.5"piping(no resonator) and the muffler. Idle-before vtec it was slightly more aggressive than stock sounding, in VTEC it was a very good sounding rumble(much quieter than a fartcan, but louder than something like the apexi WSII).

on the sol I have a stock header, 2.5" high flow cat, 22" magnaflow resonator, and snl muffler, **** sounds very quiet but "tuned"(only way I can describe it lol, not ricey at all) at idle-low rpms and in vtec sounds great.
similar to this one:

It's about the same price as OBX(might actually be cheaper) but...everything I've ever bought of OBX has failed in one way or another be it an LSD(inner gears basically dissolved in a matter of weeks, then It was a bitch getting the axles out) or test pipe and header(welds all failed within 2 months).

One more benifit of the snl twin loop, is that in their 25+page thread in the so cal forum there are several soundclips at hand of different setups using their muffler as well as pics of what the muffler can look customized.

I'm very happy with 2.25" tubing, 16" magnaflow resonator (I'm thinking about going to 22"), and a DynoMax Super Turbo 2.25" #17731 (17733 for 2.5") its not a straight through design, but it flows very well and sounds great, not as loud as a magnaflow. You can get the super turbo mufflers from http://www.summitracing.com

I like the RS*R mufflers.. you can just get a universal one and get the muffler shop to cut off the old greddy one and weld the new one on. if you've got lots of money to spend how about a blitz

I've never known RSR to sell just the mufflers and for blitz...don't they only make fartcans?

Save your money and just get whatever universal muffler you like and have that welded onto your existing greddy evo catback piping like other members have suggested. No sense in spending big money on another cat-back when you've already got a decent sized b-pipe...

The Ti-c is just an SS exhaust with a fartcan and a Ti tip held on the end by 3 nuts and bolts. Those same bolts are used to hold on the silencer as well. Overrated and overhyped for the price if you ask me...
