Including jams?

2.5 would probably be enough, but get three to be on the safe side.

That's about average for decent quality paint. Who makes the paint?

Maaco can spray, and if the prep work is done perfectly, you can wetsand and buff it out and make it look like a $5,000 paint job.

Prep work is 95% of the job, so if you pull everything off the car (trim, glass, door handles) and have it ready for them, they'll do it. The base clear system is nice because as long as it's laid evenly, you can wetsand most imperfections out.

They won't warranty the paintwork though because they didn't do the prep, but it'll come out better than their half assed prep work

Or pickup an HVLP gun and find a suitable place to paint, and do it all yourself for cheap.

Here's a Civic I did a few years ago. I did all the bodywork except the welding of new 1/4 panels (bad rot, chassis has 247K miles) because I can't weld for ****.
