Default Keyless Entry: Lights dont flash but car unlocks? How do u make the lights flash?

Ok i got my new keyless remote today and programmed it. The door lock and unlock but the horn doesnt sound and the lights dont flash.

I would like to wire it so the lights at least flash [useful for locating car in crowded lots]- how would i wire it to function this way?

What wire gets power when you press lock/unlock from the remote? All I would have to do is run a wire from that and splice it to the headlights/taillights to make them flash right?

I only want the lights to flash when unlocking.locking via remote, i dont want them to flash every time i lock or unlock from inside the car...

Thanks for any help....

You can make the horn honk...but thats about it

I tried a few years ago to make the parking lights flash too. Tried all sorts of different ways, with and without relays - just wouldnt happen.
I was going about it, using the grey "horn" wire at the back of the deck (its a ground btw) and even a signal from the locks themselves - neither would cause the lights to flash. I think the signal time is just too short

Its something to do with that "option" button
I dont remember exactly what combination order you press them in, but try holding that and lock/unlock the doors.

You have the wrong kind of remoet it sounds like. Pressing the option button should turn the beep on and off.

I have a remote with the option button (FCC ID: A269ZUA101, CANADA: 700101489, REF NO.HFR-610, P/N: 08E61...). My 1997 Civic User manual says to push the lock and option buttons for 2 sec to turn on/off the horn beep. Also the parking lights flash, but I guess this is related to the Honda security system (control by the same remote) on my car.

I called my Honda dealer and they told me the P/N of the remote which is compatible with my Civic. You can also go to http://www.handaaccesories.com and look for the 3 button remotes which are compatible with your car. Cheers

The lights don't flash for plain keyless entry on the '96-'98 Civics though.

Just want that to be clear.
