Default timing a h23

im hopefully soon going to fire up my h23 and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointer (never timed a car before) any help would be very appreciated

its actually really easy. while you have all the covers off and belt off just line the flywheel up with the pointer at tdc then line all the arrows up. with that done work your way from the crank around from the front of the engine to the rear. the exhuast side of the belt will be the tight side, the intake side will be a little loose after the reinstalling the tensioner but thats normal. after you have everything back on manually spin the motor all the way around to make sure the timing stays on.

download a pdf helms. I remember having to stick a bolt in the motor somewhere to line something up. my memory sucks so i can't remember what it was... rear of teh motor anyways.
