2.75" or 3" intake for my B16A2
I have a B16A2 w/ the following mods:
•Skunk2 IM (Classic Style)
•DC 4-1 header
•Invidia Cat back
•ACT Heavy Duty Clutch
•ACT 8.8lbs flywheel
I was wondering if I should get a 2.75" intake or a 3" intake?
I have heard people say get a 2.75" intake if I haven't done cams and/or port and polished, if you have get a 3". Now I have read tons about intakes and the flow dynamics related to them, and my throttle body isn't 3", so would it make since to get anything bigger than my throttle body diameter?

good i heard better reviews from the edelbrock performer x or whatever its called. depending on what you plan on doing to you car, depends on which route to go. are you you doing a n/a build??
For a mild build B16, the stock P30 manifold is your best bet. Might gain a little more power up top with an aftermarket but you'll lose some midrange and torque.
As for the intake just get a 3"

I'd go with the biggest tube in relation to the size of the opening on your IM. 2.75 sounds good to me.
Longer + skinny = more velocity
Shorter + fatter = less resistance
but depending on how much the opening is, a bigger tube won't make a real difference except slow the velocity down. I'm not a fan of intakes, if my car was still N/A id either go stock or ebay+K&N filter. Though make a note that the V2 intake has a skinny/narrower tube than its previous generations.

I thought that the aftermarket IM's made the runners shorter so that when the valves opened the "pulse" was on it's way down the runner. However this is not the first time I was told the Skunk2 IM was overkill. When I bought the car they actually had the throttle adjusted so it would only open halfway, and it did feel faster, I of course opened it up, and it definitly suffered some low end power. I will have to test between the two to see if it affected my top end, but since the parts on the engine are geared towards top end power, I might has well keep going with it.

screw the intake, either get the stock IM back on there or cams to make up for the mid and low end you're missing out on.
after you get that taken care of go with a 3" intake such as injen or the ITR AEM, or if you don't need to worry about CARB type BS, just get a 3" ebay intake and K&N filter

foam filters have a tendency to fall apart(especially the cheap ebay ones) and my understanding is that they are not reusable, K&Ns are reusable, and I've never heard of one falling apart
