Ok i got a ticket last week because my break lights weren't working. I checked the fuse, replaced both bulbs and still not working, it's not the break switch because my hatch break light works. Any suggestions?

What have you tested? did you check for power at the bulb socket with a DMM? Did you get the right bulbs? Are the contacts in the socket clean? Help us help you

 

tested the right bulbs, how can i clean sockets besides air cleaning. I dn't have the power tester

 

alcohol and q-tip. Does your 3rd brake light work?

 

yeah it does, one of the bulbs was corroded

 

theres your problem. you can try and get a good connection by even wirebrushing the connections inside the socket somehow....or get a new socket

 

but that was only one bulb what about the other side

 

get a new bulb and see if you can make it light up, if not get a tester light....its like what...$3 at radio shack? and tap the + and the - and see if the bulb on the tester lights up. then not then splice the + and - wire and see if you got power there...if not then go to your fuse box.
