Default Intercooler fitment with 90-91 hatch bumper

Hey guys, I'm in the process of modifying my bumper to fit the ebay intercooler I have (like the precision 350hp one 28X7X3.5). I am trying to leave the impact beam untouched as well as the front grille.

I looked at the boosted EF thread in FI but not too many pictures of front bumpers with IC's and they all have the grille removed.

I guess I just want to see some pics of people with FMIC's with the stock grille still in place and an explanation of what they did or for someone to tell me that this will not be possible in an EF.

I just want it to be a sleeper and I like the look of the front bumper with the grille.

I seriously doubt you get a 3.5" wide FMIC behind the front grill at all. You usually have to cut out the plastic for a 2.5" wide.
Try painting it black.

I had to cut out the bottom part of the grille from behind but from the front it looks stock less the 4 little bottom splitters.

Do any of you have pics of the cutting you did to the "inside" of the bumper to fit your IC?

I don't have pics of the backside, but I just added a pic to the Boosted EF topic in the FI forum.

well the grille had to go as did a whole lot of other plastic.

I also cut that bottom lip on the impact beam in the middle to raise the IC in the bumper about 3/4 of an inch.

ANy suggestions of what I should do or cut to make the charge pipes fit the end tanks and how to make it look cleaner from the front would be appreciated

it's just chilling there not mounted

Ill remove more grille and both sides next to the bumper lights so the rad has more cooling.
