Default power steering

my power steering gave out about a week ago on my daily driven DA. the belt hasnt popped and fluid level is at max so im thinking it's the pump. i dont have money to buy the part right now and probably wont until next month. i can drive the car w/ out p/s just fine but i'm more worried about the potential damage it can do to the rack-and-pinion. should i keep daily driving the car without p/s? what can happen if i keep driving under this condition?

the only thing i'm worried about is my rack and pinion in the long run. i heard it's bad to run without p/s on a car that's supposed to have it.

You should not have a problem as long as the belt is removed so the pump is not spinning.
