KYB and H&R sport.

Are you really going to be adjusting your height that much?

Do what you can afford. i think tein is over-rated.

For the price of tein you could go with koni yellows/H&R spring and suspension techniques front/rear sway. And you'd like it a lot better.

Tokico Blue's work really well if your looking for keeping the level of comfort.

I would think Tokico Illuminas on their softest setting would be pretty comfy, but good thinking.

BTW, I'm proud to see one of my quotes in someone's sig.

you can either go with the h&r sports or race. Depending on what kind of drop you prefer bro. As for the struts, go with the kyb agx's...all together brand new your looking at $500 or so...maybe even less, it really just depends if you can find the right price.

You can also go with Ground Controls also, i have them paired with kyb agx's and i love the ride. If you want to go a little stiffer, i'd suggest getting custom spring rates.
agx's=$300 plus tax
h&r= $80-$100 sumthing...new/used

^^ yep, you're looking at about 450 and it will be better than omni's.

4 way adjustable in the front, 8 way in the rear.

Friend of mine has Omni's with 12k front and 18k rear. A bumpy, hard and sometimes hurtful ride is a total understatment.

I've rode on Tein s-techs, they're soft and comfortable but the ride drop is like 1.7". Currently my car has some coil overs, I believe they're the basic Tein coilovers but not sure since my friend sold me the car and I never had a chance to really look at them. As far as ride quality go they're not bad.

what are u talking about 18k rear that would mean it takes 356 pounds to compress that spring 1 inch iv been running omni's in my hatch for a year now nothing touchs this set up the car crew i roll in now 6 out of the 10 cars run omni street not race suspensions and the ride is stiff but not to stiff tien's are way to soft omni is the best bang for your buck and you dont need to adjust them the valving is perfect i track the car every month and drive it to work everyday! best set up ever and this is my fourth ive don koni reds and yellow with skunk2 coil's, h&r and now of them were as good as the omni, sharp turns at 130km on omnis

im runin the tein basics and to be completely honest i cant wait to get new coilovers. i just not happy with the product. for the money you can get something better. i have had my min e for 2 years now and alot of the green powder coating is flaking off, 2 outta the 4 struts blew out the oil in under 3 months, and why no upper mounts?? do they do that for ride quality? idk just from personal experience i wouldn't spend on dime on the lower class teins IMO

^^

Tokico's come with a lifetime warranty, as do konis.

700 smacks sounds expensive to me for coilovers and illuminas, I think koni's and GC can be had for about that in the market place.

Coilovers shmoilovers, just get a progressive spring with a height you like. Get used to driving a lowered car.

When I had coilovers I never wanted to change the height either because I was
A- Too lazy
b- Didn't want an alignment
c- was fine with the 2.5" right height
d- really didn't see the point when I was happy with what I had.

Illuminas are nice, just match them with an H&R or a tein/eibach whatever.

I'd have to say get the koni yellows. IMO, they are the best on the market for the price and application. Granted they do cost a bit more than the Tokico and KYB shocks but they are well worth it. Koni's rock as are and have a LOT of re valve options. Just slap those suckers on with some H&R's or eibachs and you're set.

OR you could go with what everyone on HT seems to like, Ground Control w/ Koni Sport.

Wonder why? Maybe because that's the drag setup?

Normal omni's are 10k/f and 8k/r. They ride absolutely fine. I have had them on 3 different civics and currently use 12k/12k for the track because it keeps the car from squatting when it launches but still drives ok on the street.

When you talk about what "a friend has", it just starts the downfall of a good product that you have no personal experience with.
