sohc vtec swap question
i have a 1990 si hatch with a blown sohc in it. i just have a couple questions. i was thinking about dropping a sohc vtec in it but i was wondering if i had to change any of my wiring around or could i use the wiring that is already in the car. i was also curious if

yes you will have to wire it for obd-1(there arent any obd-0 sohc vtec motors) and youll have to wire it up for vtec. boomslang and rywire have obd0-obd1 kits or you can send your harness to rywire and have him wire everything up.

I've done two swaps now. One with out buying a kit (actually ended up purchasing the boomslang kit) and the other I just completed with a rywire kit. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend getting the Rywire kit. It is completely plug and play. The boomslang kit is a little cheaper but it isn't plugged. Basically with the boomslang kit you have to repin and/or solder up (as well as have the vtec plugs; will probably be on the engine with cut off wires) the distributor wires and vtec. The rywire has adapter plugs for the distributor and the ecu. It's just plain easy.
If you have any specific wiring questions shoot 'em my way and I'll try to help you the best I can (the first '91 civic we tried to do it with no conversion harness).
