I got a 98 civic hatch one of my valves is done so i wanna make a swap instead of fixing it i got a stock SOHC non vtec i think its a OBD 2 wanted to go sohc Vtec was wondering if their is any motor that would juss pop in with my sohc non vtec wiring tranny and mount that wont make my life harder need help

Bro if its just your valves and you want to go VTEC, why don't you try a mini me swap? Cheaper than a full SOHC VTEC swap and it'l output the same power

you can mini me, or D16Y8's were sohc vtec and obd2

yes any obd1 or obd2 vtec motor will pop right in, but wiring will have to change, either way to run vtec you need a new ecu and wiring to the vtec solenoid and pressure switch.

would a d16z6 head fit my engine is a D16y7

Just plop you an ex head on that setup, change your intake manifold, engine harness, ecu, and in dash harness for ease. Also, there will be some tricky wiring for your driver door sill connection. I did this on mine. Works great.

BTW, get you an ex gauge cluster so you got a tach

I also forgot, replace your tranny with an y8 or z6 tranny. It will make a difference. This is not required, but I'm telling you from experience that it will make a difference in how it pulls.

was wondering A p28 is that Obd 1 or is their a obd 2 P28 ?????? if it is dont i have to change my whole Engine harness cuz its OBD 2???????/ or is will it plug in right and the only thing i will have to mod is the Solenoid

also was wondering on the Timing Belt for a d16z6 it come off a 92-95 del sol ?????

doenst suck, just cant tell if its working or not

and most, if not all d series parts are interchangeable

Ok.......... was wondering about the ECu if a P28 would make this harder since my car is Obd 2 and the p28 is obd 1 and also the D16z6 timing belt does it come off a 92-95 del sol ?
