Pic request: Skunk2 drag car engine
I'm looking for a picture of the intake system on the motor. I've been told that they modified a set of twm's and I wanted to see it. I hear they cut them down shorter and changed the angle as well.

Anyone running TWM's in a competitive pro car modifies the hell out of them from what I understand. Universal throttle bodies (length/diameter) tend not too work well with non universal applications.
Omniman would be the guy to talk to for what your looking for, I believe he was the one who did the modifying ont he old TWM B units Skunk ran.

I think what your thinking about is the K series that they cut, what it was before TWM came out with the K series kit they took a H22 ITB and cut the flange off and made a K flange that they welded on. So because of the angle that it came out to they made a air box to fit it, so that's why the different angle and length.

The TWM units they used on the B series set up years back were HEAVILY modified. Cut up, welded, ported, etc. It wouldnt suprise me if they did the same on the K if and when they used TWM TB's. TWM TB's are a one size fits all type deal, that just doesnt apply for full race applications. I do think they were using Kinsler TB's on the K though from what I rememeber.

skunk was actually using something other then TWM on the K motors. TWM were the first set of ITBs that they were using. They switched out to a custom set of ITBs that were made and were about 60mm - 64mm.
some of the scoops that people are running now have a two staged injection or top feed with a total of 8 injectors.

In the second picture I can see where it was cut at the flange but the angles are hard to see. Hardt, you bring up a good point. I should probably ask Omniman, if he was the person that modified them. I guess it makes it a little harder to find a picture of a b motor since those are all vintage and probably black and white pictures anyway.
