Default Acceleration Problems

Anyhow, I have a few issues and I'm not sure if they are connected.

First, I've notice lack of power for a while now under acceleration. It seems that sometimes its worse than other times almost as if the car wasn't running off a cylinder although i doubt this is the case but who knows.

Also, another problem is the tranny seems to jerk more when shifting. This is especially noticeable at very low speed going from second to first back to second in a short time will cause the care to feel like its about to stall then it will jerk a bit and move forward as planned. (parking lot driving) If i were to stop at a sign and not wait for 3 or 4 seconds, it will happen every time. (I don't do run stop signs, I'm just using that as an example to help explain the situation.

sounds like you might have a bad transmission mount...would you describe it as a "bucking"

Actually to me it sounds like the shitty tranny is going to go out. Hopefully it's just the mount, but when my car did that, Honda gave me a new transmission. 98-02 auto trannies are ****.

Does it rev far past it makes power, the car slows, and then it drops into 2nd gear and you shoot forward?

Just curious on why should it be, or possibly might be free. Could you explain? That would be great if it was.

the 98-02 accords with auto trannies are built horribly..from what Ive heard Ford built them and that explains it all..the crap out usually before 100k miles and thats why honda does them for free because they all do this..they start out with slight slips and hard shifting and the next thing you know your tranny is gone and your pissed off...I think its a 100k mile warranty on the tranny...call the dealership and ask them..id get it replaced now before it actually craps out.

basically one of the gears in the transmission doesnt recieve proper lubrication, which can cause it to fail. i believe it is 2nd gear that usually has the problem, and thats why you have the bucking trying to go into 2nd

Well be nice, and give it a shot. Some dealers want to keep your business so Honda will offer one up as a sign of good will.
