I got an EGR block-off plate but im not too sure how to remove the EGR valve and what lines i would have to plug up and all that. Also is that gonna keep a check engine light on? how do i do it?

yes, you will probably get a check engine light if you are still OBDII. There are two nuts holding it onto the intake manifold. Remove them then remove the EGR valve. Before putting the plate on, be sure to use gasket maker of some sort to make a good seal.

you should really read about these things before you go spending money.

You will still have a code with OBD1. Install the plate and you can get rid of everything except the parts that have wires plugged into them (black plastic solenoid and actual valve). I just put the remaining stuff somewhere out of the way...

It's very difficult to run egr valve lift with a block off plate with no check engine light.
