Default Toyo Proxes 4 vs Kumho Ecsta ASX for my GSR

Need to buy some new tires tomorrow and have been looking at the proxes 4 vs the Kumho Ecsta ASX for my 98 GSR

Looks like I can get the Kumhos in 195-55-15 for my blades. Don't make that size in the proxes so would have to go with something a bit bigger.

Any thoughts or suggestions. Anyone running these tires on their GSR? I did a recent search and just found proxes for sale.

Thanks!

I"d go with the 205/50/15, it gives you a little more tire and it only throws your speedo off by 1 mph under. So if it read you were going 60mph you are actually going 59mph. I'm running 205/50/15 Falken Azenis and those things are awesom.

I have some kumho asx and they are wearing pretty fast. Faster than I'd like. They're worn over 3/4 of the way and I've had them for about 10 months. Next time I'm getting some vredesteins or two sets of wheels. Vredesteins are amazing.

Get the Kumho SPT, they offer more dry grip than the ASX and you can get them on tire-rack for 56 a piece!

how many miles on the tires so far? have you had an alignment lately? i'm wondering cuz i just got a set of them. my ziex 512's lasted about 20k, i'm hoping these can do at least that.

the asx and spt are 2 completely different tires. as you've probably noticed, the asx is an all-season tire while the spt is a summer tire. of course the spt will grip better in the dry, but how does it do in the snow, rain, and cold temps? probably not that great compared to the asx.

Probably around 10k. I got an alignment when the tires were mounted. The way I drive doesn't help either. But the vredesteins I had were awesome, esp. in the snow. I think it also had something to do with size in the snow, I had 195 vredesteins and now I have 205 kumhos. The 195's were def better in the snow.

I would go with toyos 205-50-R15.

Currently I have Dunlop Dirrezas 205-50-R15 on my GSR Blades and they are great.
I love em they get the job done!
