Default Opinions needed - DEL SOL Si or '95 Civic hatch back

Ok, here's my situation.. I currently own a black '93 Del Sol Si, completely OEM, which I am happy with aside from the fact that there is NO leg room, head room or storage space inside the car.

I was offered a '95 Honda Civic CX hatch back for $1,000 dollars that has had a front end collision, which bent up the radiator core support, twisted the headlight housing and a few other "replaceable" parts near the headlight including the piece the fender bolts to at the front of the car.. replacing these pieces would take a welding job which I have no experience with.

Yesterday I was offered $2500 for my Del Sol. Kelly blue book says my del sol is worth $2500, also my car has peeling clear coat and needs a new clutch.

Should I sell the del sol, fix the hatch and put the money toward the hatch? Or should I keep the Del Sol and slowly make payments on the hatch until it's mine? What should I do?

I would just keep the Del Sol. Fixing the hatch just seems like a lot of work to me.

the reason it would take so long to obtain the civic with payments is because I goto college full time, and pay my way for everything including tuition, and work has not been going so well lately.

Well, my room mate does body work for a living, and can have everything to repair the hatch done at a cheap price.. and since i've wanted a hatch for a long time I decided i'm getting it regardless.

I wouldn't be buying the hatch if the damaged pieces were not replaceable.

i wouldnt get that hatch i would sell the sol and get a cleaner hatch because you should be able to find a perfectly good shell with good paint and everything for a grand(would just need an engine).

i say look around a little bit more and see what you can find. now you can find ej6(ek hatch's) with 100k+ milage for 2k ish.

Sell the Del Slow, get the hatch on the cheap and keep ahold of the money for more important things like your education, housing and food. Besides, you're in a perfect position with a buddy who does bodywork. Seems simple to me. Do it man! Oh, and when you're done go post pics on my site. Link in my sig. Werd.

dude, how tall are you that you don't have head room in the sol? stock seats are low enough that my 6'4" friend fits decently.

anyway, keep the sol man. you'll regret it as soon as you let it go.

Keep the Sol...To hell with the hatch. I wouldn't give up my sol for an EG hatch bro.

BTW....Are you 7 foot tall?? We have members of team sol over 6'2" that fit in their sols with plenty of leg and head room. They have tons of room on the inside.

I have GSR leathers in the soL.. they sit a lot higher, i'm only 5'7'' or 5'8''

They are so much more comfortable when compared to the stock soL seats

the lack of storage space in the soL really sux, I've always owned a car with space inside.

Keep the Sol. There may be other "small" things with the hatch. Good luck.
